Medical Entrance Exam in india

Medical domain is always on the hit list of the candidates who desire to make it big in the foray of health education and health services globally. To allow the candidates having a passage in the prominent medical colleges across the country, respective institutes held an all India medical entrance exam for admission to several MBBS programs that are recognized and entitled by various medical institutes and medical universities throughout the country.

These medical institutes are established by the Government of India with an Act of Parliament having objective of to spread a high standard of Medical Education in India and to develop excellent patterns of medical teaching in Undergraduate and Post-graduate Medical Education in all its proposed branches across the country.To get the eligibility for any of the countrywide medical entrance test:

* The minimum age bar shouldn’t be less than 17 years.
* Aspirants must have passed Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (10+2) or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology from a recognized board and English as one of the main subjects.
* A candidate should have passed the 10+2 exam with 60% aggregate in Chemistry, Biology, English and Physics.
* The minimum passing percentage for the reserve categories is 55 % to appear in the entrance exams.
* Those candidates who are waiting for results may also apply to appear in the medical entrance tests.

Some of the prominent colleges and boards that conduct the medical entrance examinations are listed below:

* AIIMS
* CPMT * DPMT
* CBSE-PMT
* CMC
* JIPMER
* BHU-PMT etc.

Below listed is the standard pattern that colleges use to opt while conducting the medical entrance exams.

* The question paper and syllabus for the medical entrance test is the primary key to evaluate the intelligence quotients of the aspirants who want to get admission in five-and-a-half-year MBBS course.
* Medical entrance test is one stage or two stage entrance examination. In the previous mode a mains exam is conducted to execute the selection process however in the later one a preliminary and a mains exam is fired up to choose the candidates.
* In the standard pattern, the question paper consists of 200 objective and reason assertive type questions 60 each from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. 20 questions are asked from the general knowledge section of question paper.
* Each question has four choices and 1 mark is offered for each correct choice. One third marks are however detected for every wrong answer.                       

* Question papers are available both in English and Hindi
* The entire question paper is divided in four parts namely Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge.

After declaration of medical entrance exam results, counseling letter is sent to all the successful candidates with a prospectus of comprehensive admission procedure thereafter.
